Corey Feldman has taken to X to allege the Oscars did not invite him to participate in the Rob Reiner tribute that is being planned for the 2026 Academy Awards. Variety exclusively reported earlier this month that Reiner’s “When Harry Met Sally” stars Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan will reunite during the Oscars’ In Memoriam segment to pay tribute to Reiner while standing on stage alongside other stars from the late director’s movies.

“I just want to briefly mention this Oscars thing! Yes, it’s true that I was not invited,” Feldman posted on X. “I understand many believe it’s due to being outspoken about the abuse I suffered as a child and the campaign to silence me. However, this isn’t about me. It’s not my moment at all. It’s about the tragic loss of our friend Rob Reiner and his memory.”

“As much I appreciate all support, it’s very sweet of you… but please stop. Please take down any petitions to push for my presence at the awards,” he continued. “They don’t need me there. Will and Jerry got this I’m sure. They will do a fantastic job… I’ll honor Rob my own way.”

Feldman starred in Reiner’s classic 1986 coming-of-age movie “Stand By Me.” He suggested that his co-stars Jerry O’Connell and Will Wheaton were asked to participate in the planned Oscars tribute to the director while he was not.

Variety has reached out to the Academy for comment on Feldman’s claims.

Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead in their Brentwood home on Dec. 14. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later reported they died from “multiple sharp force injuries.” Their son, Nick, was arrested and charged with two counts of murder. Nick pleaded not guilty on Feb. 23. He is facing two counts of murder with an enhancement that could carry the death penalty or life without parole if he is convicted.

The 2026 Oscars are set for March 15.

HI FOLLOWERS & SUPPORTERS, I JUST WANT 2 BRIEFLY MENTION THIS WHOLE OSCARS THING! YES ITS TRUE THAT I WAS NOT INVITED, I UNDERSTAND MANY BELIEVE ITS DUE 2 BEING OUTSPOKEN ABOUT THE ABUSE I SUFFERED AS A CHILD & THE CAMPAIGN 2 SILENCE ME. HOWEVER THIS ISNT ABOUT ME! ITS NOT MY…— Corey Feldman (@Corey_Feldman) March 6, 2026
