David and Victoria Beckham wish son Brooklyn happy birthday despite feud - BBC

Sir David and Lady Beckham have wished son Brooklyn a happy birthday on Instagram, two months after the 27-year-old exposed a rift in the family.

In a statement in January, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham made several accusations against his parents, including that they had tried to "ruin" his relationship with his wife Nicola.

His parents have not commented on the rift, but both posted photos and birthday wishes to their son on Wednesday.

"Twenty-seven today," Sir David posted along with an emotional-eyes emoji and white love heart. "Happy birthday bust, we love you."

His words were accompanied by a picture of Sir David and Lady Beckham in a swimming pool with Brooklyn as a child.

A second picture posted by Sir David, featuring him and a young Brooklyn in black and white, carried a similar caption: "Happy birthday Bust. Love you x."

Buster is Sir David's nickname for his eldest son, and the former footballer has it tattooed on his neck. "I've always called Brooklyn Buster since the day he was born," Sir David previously explained.

Lady Beckham also sent birthday wishes, posting a picture of herself with Brooklyn as a toddler along with a string of love-heart emojis, writing: "Happy 27th birthday Brooklyn, I love you so much."

In his now-infamous six-page Instagram statement in January, Brooklyn made clear that relations with his parents had broken down, saying he had been forced to respond after they had "continued to go to the press".

He made claims including that his mother had "cancelled making Nicola's [wedding] dress at the eleventh hour" and "danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone" during the ceremony.

Brooklyn also said Nicola had been "consistently disrespected by my family", and that his father had refused to see him when the pair travelled to visit for his birthday.

Sir David and Lady Victoria haven't responded directly.
