Laura Brown and Kristina O’Neill continue to grow their Cool Girl empire with the forthcoming launch of ALL THE COOL GIRLS, a multimedia podcast franchise in partnership with In the Arena Studios. The announcement comes just six months after the release of the duo’s critically acclaimed book, All the Cool Girls Get Fired.
Brown — former editor in chief of InStyle and executive editor, special projects of Harper’s Bazaar — and O’Neill — former editor in chief of WSJ. Magazine and executive editor at Harper’s Bazaar — both lost their top media jobs at the height of their careers. The close friends and colleagues of 20-plus years turned their joint experience into a full-blown movement, with one legendary social media post starting it all: a photo of the pair captioned, “All the coolest girls get fired.”
“From our fateful Instagram post through the publication of All the Cool Girls Get Fired and beyond, we became acutely aware of just how needed it was,” say Brown and O’Neill. “It’s time to flip the narrative on job loss: from insecurity and shame to ownership and self-discovery. We can’t wait to partner with In the Arena Studios and broaden the conversation.”
“Laura and Kristina landed on an incredibly important and impactful mission in a time of so much transition going on across the employment landscape,” adds Chris Corcoran, founder and chief creative officer of In the Arena Studios. “Not only did they bet on themselves and create a deeply meaningful brand to inspire others to do the same, but in creating a destination in the form of a podcast they can now keep this conversation going that is more necessary and relevant than ever.”
