Lisa Kudrow and RuPaul have a date with Human Rights Campaign.
The organization will host the pair as special guests at its Los Angeles dinner at Fairmont Century Plaza on March 28. The program will feature a speech on the fight for LGBTQ+ rights by HRC president Kelley Robinson and a live auction hosted by comedian Dana Goldberg. As previously announced, Michael Patrick King, Kudrow’s co-pilot on their beloved HBO series The Comeback, which returns for a third season later this month, will receive a Visibility Award at the event. Additional honorees and guests will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
“We are so pleased to host icons RuPaul and Lisa Kudrow, whose talents and brilliance have helped to expand equality on and off screen. Alongside our honoree, Michael Patrick King — whose work has brought so much joy, laughter and heart to our community — this event will truly be a night to remember,” Robinson said. “As our community faces targeted attacks on our rights and freedoms, it is more important than ever that we come together under the shared mission of building better and brighter futures in California and beyond.“
RuPaul’s showing comes as he’s still the face of the juggernaut RuPaul’s Drag Race, a pop culture phenomenon that has generated armfuls of Emmy Awards and other accolades. A new season is currently streaming on Paramount+. Friends star Kudrow returns as Valerie Cherish in The Comeback, which she co-created and executive produces with King. The comedy returns March 22.
