The Match Factory Scores Multiple Deals for Berlinale Award-Winning Titles ‘Queen at Sea,’ ‘Rose’

The Match Factory has closed multiple distribution deals for its Berlinale-awarded titles “Queen at Sea” by Lance Hammer and “Rose” by Markus Schleinzer.

“Queen at Sea” won the Silver Bear Jury Prize, alongside a Silver Bear for Best Supporting Performance for Tom Courtenay and Anna Calder-Marshall.

Following its world premiere, The Match Factory secured distribution in several territories including U.K. and Ireland (Curzon), Poland (Aurora), Benelux (Imagine Film), South Korea (Challan), Switzerland (Frenetic Films), Greece (Cinobo), Portugal (FILMS4YOU), Former Yugoslavia (Investacommerce AG), the Baltics (Scanorama), Taiwan (Andrews Film) and LATAM (Cine Canibal).

The film is produced by Tristan Goligher and Hammer for The Bureau.

“Rose” nabbed the Silver Bear for Best Leading Performance, awarded to Sandra Hüller.

The Match Factory closed deals for distribution rights across a wide range of territories, including France (KMBO), Spain (Avalon), Benelux (Paradiso), Poland (Gutek), South Korea (Pancinema), Denmark (Ost For Paradis), Sweden and Iceland (Edge), Norway (Fidalgo), Finland (Future Film Oy), Hungary (Cirko Film), Portugal (No Comboio), Greece (Weirdwave), Czech Republic and Slovakia (Zero Gravity), Bulgaria (Beta Film), Former Yugoslavia (MCF Megacom), Middle East and North Africa (Gulf Film), Israel (Lev Cinemas), and the Baltics (Scanorama).

Additionally, the film will be distributed in Germany (Piffl), Austria (Filmladen), and Switzerland (Filmcoopi).

“Rose” is an Austrian-German production from Schubert, Row Pictures and Walker + Worm Film, produced by Johannes Schubert, Philipp Worm, Tobias Walker and Karsten Stöter.

Negotiations for additional territories for both films are ongoing.
