Browns, NFL free agency: 4 best available to fill Cleveland’s needs

The ebbs and flows of the NFL are always interesting to observe. Day 1 of NFL free agency saw a flurry of agreements coming together in the afternoon, only to slow down late in the evening. Day 2 has started off much slower, down to a trickle very quickly, with the possibility that the Cleveland Browns already know Joel Bitonio is moving on among the biggest news/rumors of the day so far.

For the Browns, three reported additions are helpful, with the loss of LB Devin Bush mitigated by the arrival of LB Quincy Williams. Learning more about OL Zion Johnson’s history provides a deeper look into a player who may be in a position to replace Bitonio in 2026.

That doesn’t mean Cleveland should or will be done in NFL free agency. Here are the 4 best available players to help fill some needs for the Browns:

* OT Rasheed Walker - Walker is the top offensive tackle available in free agency, but did not sign on Day 1. Either his market isn’t as strong as expected, or his agents are trying to use leverage to push his contract demands even higher. Walker is a solid starting left tackle, something that is very valuable in the NFL, even if he isn’t great at the position. Signing Walker would open up all the possibilities in the NFL draft. Update: There are rumblings that Walker’s contract might be for far less than expected at this point. It could create even more interest for the Browns unless they are locked in on an OT early in the NFL draft.

* WR Romeo Doubs - Might as well stick with Walker’s Green Bay Packers teammate here. The 26-year-old had his best year in 2025, in a crowded receiver room, with 55 receptions for 724 yards and six touchdowns. An explosive receiver with a good size/speed combination, Doubs could thrive moving up a spot in target share. Update: Doubs signed with the Patriots.

* OL Teven Jenkins - It was noted that Cleveland was on the lookout for more guard help, leading to the Bitonio departure assumption, and retaining Jenkins could be the best option to help fill out the rest of the line. Jenkins played at a higher level than Wyatt Teller in 2025. Update: Re-signed with the Browns! Got one right.

* P Tommy Townsend - The Browns need a punter. Townsend is seen as the best option out there, or one of them.

Which NFL free agents do you think the Browns should add on Day 2? Do you like the above options or think the team should go in different directions?
