Real Madrid are once again dealing with a worrying injury situation, and this time it could seriously affect their trip to Vigo.

According to reports from Abraham Romero of El Mundo, as many as 10 players could miss Friday’s La Liga clash against Celta de Vigo at Balaidos due to a mix of injuries and suspensions.

The confirmed absentees already include Rodrygo, Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Eder Militao and Dani Ceballos, all ruled out through injury.

Furthermore, defensive concerns are also growing. David Alaba finished the recent match against Getafe with calf discomfort and is currently being assessed by club medical staff after undergoing tests this morning.

Raul Asencio is also dealing with serious discomfort following the neck injury that he sustained after colliding with teammate Eduardo Camavinga against Benfica.

On top of that, three players are unavailable due to suspension, namely, Dean Huijsen, Alvaro Carreras and Franco Mastantuono.

The Argentine international was sent off against Getafe after an argument with the referee, while the two defenders will serve their automatic suspension after accumulating five yellow cards in the league.

Manager Alvaro Arbeloa will therefore travel to Balaidos without key attacking and defensive options.

The absence of Mbappe and Bellingham alone removes two of the team’s main sources of goals and creativity.

With Militao sidelined and suspensions affecting the back line, defensive depth is also under pressure and the timing could not be worse.

Real Madrid have already lost four matches under Arbeloa in 12 games, including defeats to Talavera, Benfica, Osasuna and Getafe.

In fact, two consecutive league defeats have left them four points behind leaders Barcelona in the title race.

Mathematically, the championship is still within reach. But realistically, Madrid no longer control their own destiny. Dropped points in Vigo would only deepen that gap.
