COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West today unveiled its updated 2026 football matchups, setting the stage for an exciting new era of MW football.
The 2026 season will showcase an expanded league footprint with 10 programs competing across 40 Conference games and four time zones.
The MW revised the previously announced MW football matchups after the recent addition of North Dakota State.
NDSU, NIU and UTEP join the Mountain West in 2026, in addition to Air Force, Hawai‘i, Nevada, New Mexico, San José State, UNLV and Wyoming.
Each team will play four home and four away Conference games over a 13-week schedule, culminating in the Mountain West Football Championship Game, featuring the two teams with the highest Conference win percentages, with a potential College Football Playoff berth on the line.
