Sonny Styles is leaping his way up draft boards at the NFL Scouting Combine.
The former Ohio State linebacker posted historically great numbers with a 43.5-inch vertical jump and an 11-foot-2 broad jump, showing why he’s one of the top prospects in the 2026 NFL draft class.
Styles’ vertical jump was the second-best ever for a linebacker at the NFL Scouting Combine behind only Cameron Wake, who had a 45.5-inch vertical jump in 2005. It was the best vertical jump ever at the combine by a player who weighed in at more than 240 pounds as well as the best vertical jump ever by a player who measured in at 6-foot-4 or taller.

The 2025 All-American followed that up with a 11-foot-2 broad jump, which was also the best among linebackers at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine. It’s tied for the fourth-best broad jump among all linebackers at the combine since 2000.

He followed up those jumps with an official time of 4.46 seconds, tied with his Ohio State teammate Arvell Reese for the fastest among linebackers at this year’s combine, in the 40-yard dash.

Styles, who weighed in at 6-foot-5 and 244 pounds, was already projected to be a top-15 pick in most mock drafts. By proving beyond a doubt that he’s one of the freakiest athletes in the 2026 NFL draft, Styles put himself in position to potentially be a top-10 pick, which would make him the first Ohio State linebacker to be drafted in the top 10 since A.J. Hawk in 2006 – if Reese isn’t drafted before him.
