Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Pittsburgh is trading for Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr.
The trade comes less than an hour after Indianapolis signed wide receiver Alec Pierce to a $29 million per year deal.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the trade is a late-round pick swap. The details still haven’t been released. Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Pittman is signing a new three-year, $59 million deal in Pittsburgh. He was previously scheduled to have a $24 million cap hit in 2026.
Pittman, 28, is coming off an 80-catch, 784-yard, seven-touchdown season in Indianapolis. He’s previously crossed the 1,000-yard season threshold twice in his career. Pittman is a 6’4, 223-pound target who ran a 4.52-second 40-yard dash at the 2020 NFL Combine. With 9.8 yards per catch last season, he’s established himself as a reliable target in the intermediate passing game.
Pittman joins D.K. Metcalf in the Steelers wide receiver room on the one-year anniversary of the trade that landed the latter in the Steel City.
