Washington Commanders Free Agency Rumors Tracker: Welcome to the 2026 NFL Season!

The NFL’s legal tampering period started on Monday at noon, and continues concluded at 4 p.m. ET today. The new league year has officially started and the deals that have been agreed to during this negotiating window can now be finalized. The Washington Commanders have agreed to terms with seven pending free agents from other teams, along with signing ten of their own players who were set to hit free agency. Six of the seven players have been on defense, and they finally added a weapon for Jayden Daniels in TE Chig Okonkwo.

The new league year starts today at 4 p.m. ET. Washington currently has the most available cap space in the NFL($76.4 million), but only 63 players under contract to fill a 90-man roster. They will need to continue signing players at various salary/skill levels, along with their six draft picks for April’s draft. How many players does Washington need to sign today to make the first wave of free agency a success?

DE Odafe Oweh - Agreed to 4-year, $100 million deal

DT Tim Settle - Agreed to 3-year, $24 million deal

LB Leo Chenal - Agreed to 3-year, $24.75 million deal

OLB K’Lavon Chaisson - Agreed to 1-year, $12 million deal

TE Chig Okonkwo - Agreed to 3-year deal worth up to $30 million

S Nick Cross - Agreed to two-year deal worth up to $14 million

DE Charles Omenihu - Signed to one-year deal worth up to $7 million

P Tress Way - Re-signed for 1 year

G/T Andrew Wylie - Signed two-year, $6.65 mill deal

OL Nick Allegretti - Signed new, two-year deal

DE Deatrich Wise Jr. - Re-signed for 1 year

DT Shy Tuttle - Re-signed for 1 year

DE Drake Jackson - Re-signed for 1 year

K Jake Moody - Not getting tendered; re-signed for 1 year

WR Treylon Burks - Re-signed for 1 year, up to $4 million

LT Laremy Tunsil - Signed 2-year, $60.2 million extension

QB Marcus Mariota - Re-signed for 1-year, $7 million; worth up to $11 million

TE Tyree Jackson - Not tendered, UFA

C Tyler Biadasz - Signed three-year, $30 million deal with Chargers

CB Marshon Lattimore - Max of $18.5 million cap savings
