Usain Bolt's most famous record finally fell, just not to a human. At the second annual World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing, the Tiangong Ultra humanoid robot completed the 100-meter dash in 9.39 seconds during a preliminary heat, beating Bolt's 2009 world record of 9.58 seconds. The catch: the machines could not stop themselves at the finish line, slamming into pads, with some needing to be stretchered off the course by humans.
