CICERO, N.Y. — Zoe is an 18-year-old girl who had just graduated from Cicero-North Syracuse High School this past June. She was ready to head to Rochester to attend college at the Rochester Institute of Technology, when after a blood test, she received devastating news:

She has acute kidney disease, chronic kidney disease, and end-stage renal failure.

Zoe’s mom Kate Ireland is doing everything in her power to help her daughter find a donor and offset the costs of treatment. She’s holding a benefit at the American Legion in Cicero, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $20 at the door, and there will be food, a DJ, raffles and more.

“The support is overwhelming we have a lot of giving people,” said Ireland. “Zoe’s father and I just keep saying we can’t believe how many people are out there that are willing to help. It’s amazing to see who’s out there.”
