Nintendo may have leaked new addition to Mario Kart World's Battle Mode

Is new content coming to Mario Kart World’s Battle Mode? Fans are starting to speculate about the possibility with a future update.

Today, Nintendo posted a screenshot from the game to announce the Mario Kart World My Nintendo Open Series. This is just one of many promotions the company is planning for MAR10 Day. What’s more interesting beyond the actual announcement though is the screenshot, which we’ve attached below.

If you take a close look at the Battle Mode icon here, it’s different from what’s currently in the game. The main addition is the Bob-omb.

Currently Mario Kart World has just two options in Battle Mode. You can either go with Balloon Battle or Coin Runners. In contrast, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe had five – including Bob-omb Blast. Could that one be making a comeback in Mario Kart World in the near future?

There’s no word on DLC, but Nintendo has been updating Mario Kart World significantly since its launch with some additions and various changes. However, a new Battle Mode type would be one of its biggest patches yet.

In other news for MAR10 Day, Nintendo has announced a new Switch 2 and Switch sale for the event. Those details can be found here.
